I wanted to go a half size smaller but it was unavailable, then I got some heel pads to see if it would fit better, and it did! I'm glad I kept them because they are gorgeous! Not the most comfortable though...of course, it's a 4 inch, they make my toes cry after a while but worth the pain...and worth every penny. I am a true size 8. I initially ordered it the brown patent color but there was no room to move my toes. Then I decided to try the black kid as I thought the leather would be more forgiving. Yes it was, but not enough. The left shoe fit fine and I was willing to let me feet break into it but my right shoe was so tight, there was barely room for my pinky toe. I had to return the shoes unfortunately. I had tried the 8.5 in the store but it was too big so finally I accepted that this shoe was not built for my type of foot and took a pass. I ordered it but didn't keep it. (I went up a size, which made the ball of my foot more comfortable. I would have used heel pads to fill it out so it didn't slip if I'd kept it) I think this shoe deserves to get out more and lead a more exciting life than I would be able to give it. The Red Quasar Patent is like the finish on a sports car. I was afraid to try it on in case I marred the surface! My little toe barely fit inside, because the sides are so low. Lots of toe cleavage showing. I just can't justify keeping a shoe that I love but will never wear. Look:Fit of Fever - I normally wear a "7.5 M" in Stuart Weitzman. I have found that with Fever, my normal size works well with bare feet, but with stockings, I have to go down 1/2 size to "7 M", as my feet slide forward slightly, most likely due to the 4 inch heel, and the shoes are slightly too long. So, I now have the Blk Kid and Blk Patent in both 7.5 M and 7M, for wearing with/without stockings! This is worth it, as every single time I wear Fever, the looks and compliments from both women and men alike are never-ending! I followed the advice to buy a half size up and now have extra room so I won't be able to wear them with nylons. The shoes stretch a ton. Make sure to break them in and you're golden.
